Already the founding story of the city reveals that a woman had her hand in it… In the Middle Ages Cologne was one of the few cities where women’s guilds existed. The patron saint of the city, Ursula, suffered martyrdom here together with her companions.
You will hear about the tragic postmaster who was condemned to the stake and about a nun who became a successful entrepreneur. Our walking tour will lead us to places where very different women play(ed) an important role.
